01Origin & making

Najd, Saudi Arabia, Early 20th century. Made by hand for use, not display — proportion set by the maker's eye and the work of the household it served. Materials: Brass and copper.

02The life of the object

It stood on the coals of a Al-Rass majlis for three generations, refilled at every arrival and never washed with anything harsher than water and salt. The spout carries a faint bend from being lifted with the same hand, thousands of times, always from the right.

03The journey to Arajiz

Consigned by the family after the old house in Al-Rass was inventoried in 2019. Offered through Dar Al-Turath Gallery in Riyadh. Our specialists examined material, tooling marks and repair history, and a full condition report accompanies the lot.
