The Story
“Worn at the waist from a boy's first eid until it was handed on.”
01Origin & making
Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, Mid 20th century. Forged as dress, not war: the smith's craft judged by the fit of hilt to scabbard, not by the edge. Materials: Steel, horn, silver.
02The life of the object
An Asiri dress dagger, never a working blade. The horn hilt has taken the colour of hands; the belt loops were restitched at least twice in wool of two different dye lots.
