01Origin & making
Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, 19th century. Cast, chased and assembled by a village silversmith who worked to weight rather than to drawing. Materials: Sterling silver.
02The life of the object
Commissioned as mahr and worn at weddings across a single tribal circuit in Najd, the coral beads darkened where they rested against skin. Two links were replaced by a village smith — a repair we left visible, because it is part of the record.
03The journey to Arajiz
Sold from a Riyadh estate in 2021 with the original cloth wrap. Offered through Bait Al-Fidha in Unaizah. Our specialists examined material, tooling marks and repair history, and a full condition report accompanies the lot.
