Third-generation dealers in Najdi metalwork and household heritage, established in Al-Dirah 1968.
The Story
“A bride's chest travelled once — and then stayed for a lifetime.”
01Origin & making
Najd, Saudi Arabia, 19th century. Joined without nails where possible, in timber that arrived by sea and was seasoned for years before cutting. Materials: Rosewood and brass.
02The life of the object
Hijazi brass studwork over rosewood, made to carry a trousseau from one household to another. The interior still smells faintly of clove and holds the pencil marks of a linen inventory.
03The journey to Arajiz
From a Jeddah Al-Balad house cleared in 2018. Offered through Dar Al-Turath Gallery in Riyadh. Our specialists examined material, tooling marks and repair history, and a full condition report accompanies the lot.
