Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, Early 20th century. Built to the mathematics of its tradition, where ornament and function are the same decision. Materials: Brass and copper.
02The life of the object
A scholarly 1962 reproduction after a 10th-century original, engraved by hand for teaching. We list it as a reproduction, dated and signed — collectors deserve the distinction stated first, not in a footnote.
03The journey to Arajiz
From a university teaching collection, deaccessioned 2022. Offered through Hijaz Manuscripts in Jeddah. Our specialists examined material, tooling marks and repair history, and a full condition report accompanies the lot.
