The Story
“Woven on a ground loom, in the width of a woman's reach.”
01Origin & making
Asir, Saudi Arabia, 19th century. Everyday equipment that outlived its purpose and became a record of how life was actually lived. Materials: Cotton with zari thread.
02The life of the object
Shammar wool in madder and indigo, the warp still holding desert dust in its core. Loading wear on one face is heavier — the side that always faced the animal.
03The journey to Arajiz
